South Paw Animal Rescue & Sanctuary, Inc.

Papillon Rescue - Pomeranian Rescue - Puppymill Rescue

South Paw Animal Rescue and Sanctuary is a small 501c3 non-profit animal rescue founded in 2007. We are an all volunteer organization dedicated to rescuing puppy mill, abandoned, and unwanted Papillons and Pomeranians. We do not turn other breeds away if we are in a position to help them also.  Our volunteers are located throughout the United States and Canada. We are funded soley by charitable donations with 100% going directly to the care and medical needs of the animals we rescue.

One of our foster moms works at a veterinary hospital.

Here is Fifi's story....

"So we have this little 8 year old pom girl at my hospital that was hit by a car. The owners didn't want to pay to fix her and wanted to euthanize. She is so sweet and we all fell in love with her. She just wants to be held and falls asleepFifi on your arms. She needed to be spayed and she needed abdominal hernia surgery which she got yesterday but she will need surgery to fix her 2 pelvic fractures. We don't get discounts on new pets for 3 months and the surgery yesterday couldn't wait.  It was 2500. A tech at work is paying for it and wants her and the owners signed the pom over to her.  We've all chipped in but I was wondering if you knew of any good money raising tactics or wealthy benefactors (ha ha) so we could help pay this first bill and the other one coming. Luckily "Fifi" has a fantasic new owner who would beg on
the streets if she had to to pay for her care and she is also in one of the best specialty hospitals in Florida. Let me know if you have any ideas. Thanks for your help!!!"

Please donate if you can to help Fifi get the surgery she needs!

Think $1 won't save a dog?

Tiny dogs forced to live in a filthy prison to breed litter after litter of puppies so their owner could make money. Thinking that no one cared about their plight. They were just "numbers" in the puppymill, living out in an old metal barn in 95 degree weather.

Forced to stand on wire that cut their feet and caused painful absesses.

Overcrowded. No air circulation. Living in conditions no living creature should ever have to be in.

The puppymill decided to go out of business and an auction to sell the dogs off to the highest bidder was scheduled. We're familiar with these auctions. Most of the buyers at these auctions are other puppymills. This was the one chance for these dogs to get out of the torture they have endured their whole lives. We could not stand by idly and watch this one and only opportunity to save these dogs pass.

We went to the auction and we bought the freedom of 24 dogs to prevent them from being sold to yet another puppymill. We bought as many as we could afford and fit in our cars. The dogs were auctioned off for anywhere from $1 for some of the male dogs to several hundred dollars each of the female dogs. Today 24 of these dogs, mostly females, are now safe and learning to enjoy their new found freedom. They are safe and loved! For the first time in their lives. They have names now. They are already being loved and cared for. They will never again have to live like they did in the puppymill.

Please donate, today. Your donation will help us to rescue more dogs from puppymills. They need your help. We need your help to help them. We rely totally on donations to rescue and care for the animals in our rescue. Please Donate today. No amount is too small.

Two of the dogs we just rescued....we bought their freedom from a life of torture for $1 each.

 Every dollar DOES count!

$1 CAN save a little dog.

We Know because we did it. Twice.

We rely totally on donations and foster homes to be able to rescue animals in need.

We are in desperate need of both right now.

Donations have really dropped off with the rough economy, and all of our foster homes are currently full. Yet there are hundreds of dogs that need us urgently right now. They are in dog pounds and puppymills all over the country. Some are outside in the harsh weather at this very moment.

Please help us, today, so we can continue to rescue the animals so desperately in need of help.

(the rescue pays all veterinary expenses for foster dogs.
You simply provide the food, water, indoor home, and love these dogs so desperately need)
