Myia
Myia is an 8–10 month old German Shepherd mix weighing just 40 lbs, with the softest soul and the sweetest heart. She is a gentle, shy girl who takes a little time to warm up to new people—but once she does, her affection is quiet, sincere, and incredibly special.
With patience and a boost of confidence, Myia is going to be a wonderful lifelong companion. She absolutely loves her morning hugs, spending time watching the world go by from the front window, and enjoying peaceful walks. She’s still a bit nervous around cars, which is completely understandable given her past—Myia was dumped on a highway in a national forest with another dog who didn't make it. She survived for a week in the elements before she was finally humanely trapped and brought to safety.
Despite everything she’s been through, Myia remains extremely sweet and loving. She does well with other dogs, taking comfort in their presence. She would thrive in a calm, patient home that will let her build trust at her own pace and show her the world can be kind.
